Congratulations to Gloria Wilson from last weeks Winning Wednesday! We asked how you teach safety in the classroom, and Ms. Wilson suggested safety programs with the local fire department, monthly disaster preparedness drills, and student activities to reinforce learning. I remember when the fire department visited my son's school... back when he was in kindergarten... he loved it so much! The firefighters shared tips about fire safety, gave a tour of their truck, and each child received a little firefighter's hat. To this day, he remembers that visit.
Speaking of safety... I want to take this time to wish all of you... along the east coast... safety, shelter, and good health through Hurricane Sandy. Hope you are all OK and managing well through the aftermath of the storm. Now... something light-hearted and fun... another opportunity to win on Winning Wednesday!!
